Try to stop thinking that you can't sleep. Getting to bed early so that you can sleep is no solution either. The best solution is for you to go to bed, the way you usually do and make it a a habit. You should have a definite time in going to bed and stick to it. Also, a warm glass of milk and a dose of ferrous sulfate will help you go to sleep faster.

Always, balanced diet and exercise helps. Don't get yourself too tired. Contrary to belief that the more tired you get, the easier it is to fall asleep, tiredness does not always result in a good night's sleep.

Also, reading until your eyes are droopy helps, at least for me.

If none of these work, see a doctor. A professional knows best.
References :
had insomnia before

Try reading a book or watching a movie. If that doesn't work, imagine what you want to dream about or do in the next day.

Hope this helps you!
